POSTICHE
ce qui remplace artificiellement ce qui est dans la nature
(what artificially replaces what is in nature).
The objects of this series all function as furniture pieces. Each object has its creation process inscribed: Hidden beneath the smooth surface of shellac and color pigments are many layers of the inconspicuous, easily accessible material of paper waste. Carefully applied layer by layer, following the peculiarities of the delicate cardboard framework, the mass sticks together to form a thick, stabilizing skin. A new stable object emerges, with unexpected static centers and connections.
